Our Volunteers Make a Difference

Bethel Branch

The Bethel Branch Library Volunteers are a dedicated, enthusiastic, and hard working group of adults and youth who are always willing to lend a hand.

The Bethel Branch Library Volunteers conduct at least two, week-long, used book fairs a year. They sort and set up materials, work during scheduled hours, and pack up materials at the end of the event. The funds raised from these events go toward programs, including entertainers and speakers, for children and adults, program supplies and materials for the collection like the high school yearbooks.

Every December the Bethel Branch Library sparkles with holiday cheer thanks to the Volunteers who decorate the library, glue together graham crackers to make gingerbread houses for our popular gingerbread house decorating programs for children and help to host our open house activities during the Bethel Down Home Christmas Celebration. What would our Summer Kick Off Carnival Day be without the help of our Bethel Volunteers who register children for the summer reading program, supervise the games, assist with crafts, pass out refreshments and help clean up?

In addition to fundraising used book fairs, preparing program materials, and assisting with programs, the Bethel Volunteers help shelve DVDs and books, maintain the shelves, mark materials that are to be discarded, perform housekeeping tasks and support the staff with their smiles and generous spirit.

They truly are our “Library Heroes”!
