Our Volunteers Make a Difference

The Clermont County Public Library is fortunate to have dedicated volunteers that assist the library in a variety of ways. We have volunteers that assist us in re-shelving materials; help us prepare crafts for our programs and who work on providing book fairs to help raise money for collection, programming and branch décor needs. Teen volunteers provide assistance at our programs for children such as our Explorer’s Clubs, Daycamps and in mentoring other children in reading for our Book Buddies program at our Goshen Branch. The spirit of volunteerism continues to burn brightly at the library and we appreciate our volunteers each and every day.

If you'd like to volunteer, please look at our volunteer opportunities.

Branch Staff Share Thoughts about Volunteers

amelia volunteer Amelia Branch Amelia’s volunteers are a diverse and integral part of the Amelia branch. Being a volunteer not only helps the library but fulfills some personal goals as well. Melody, one of Amelia’s adult volunteers, states that “being a volunteer is definitely a win-win situation. The library needs some extra hands at times. I need to fill some of my time while seeking employment! Therefore-a win-win situation.” Read more...

volunteers Goshen Branch When asked to write a couple of paragraphs of five hundred words or less to describe the Goshen Volunteer group, it was hard to sum up their value in so few words. The Goshen branch currently has a total of 33 volunteers. The ages of our volunteers varies between 14 years of age to 70 plus and it is wonderful how well everyone works together. Our newest Volunteer, Danielle, says it has been a good learning experience and taught her the importance of following through with commitments. Read more...
volunteers Milford-Miami Twp. Branch The Milford Miami Township Branch Library is very lucky to have a group of dedicated and hard working volunteers. The Volunteers of the Library group organizes our quarterly book fairs. There are eighteen current members who prepare and run the fairs. They donate many hours of their time to keep this event a fundraising success. The Volunteers of the Library have used the money raised from the book fairs to buy the branch computers, furniture, books, programming funds, summer reading prizes, wiring for laptops, and folding tables among many other items. Over $17,000 in 2010-2011 has been donated for books and other items in our collection. They are currently raising funds to purchase an electronic sign for the parking lot. The volunteers meet every Thursday at 10:00 am to sort and organize all of the donated items used in the book fairs. They have their official business meeting on the first Thursday of each month. volunteer New Richmond Branch Lots of good things are happening at the New Richmond Branch, thanks to the help of our volunteers! Some volunteers come in weekly and help with sorting and shelving materials, creating and filling displays, and making sure all of our materials are in great shape. We also have volunteers who come in on an “as needed” basis to help with large programs, open house, and day camp. Read more...
volunteer Owensville Branch Owensville currently has about 4 active volunteers. Several of these volunteers are high school students who volunteer a couple of hours a week, primarily during the school year. Our volunteers help with our on-going Book Fair and special programs. Volunteers are also essential for shelving at Owensville. Cleaning toys, straightening shelves, picking up outside trash and craft preparation are a few of the other tasks with which volunteers assist us. Read more...
